The Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Composers USA presents a concert of new organ music at St. Athanasius Episcopal Church in Echo Park. In addition to music by NACUSA chapter members, James French (the organist at St. Athanasius church) will discuss and demonstrate the tradition of organ improvisation. Organists include Linda West Brown, James French and Deon Nielsen Price. All are welcome to come hear this exciting concert of organ music by Southern California NACUSA composers.

Parking information: Street parking in the Echo Park area is limited. There are two small, gated, free parking floors underneath the church with entrances on Echo Park Avenue and Laguna Avenue. It is suggested that attendees carpool if possible.

Join NACUSA-LA and the CSUN Department of Music in celebrating Beverly Grisby's 90th birthday with a concert!

Concert in honor of Beverly Grisby's 90th!

The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Composers is pleased to invite its members to participate in a concert Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2018 at the Recital Hall, California State University Northridge, 2 pm. The concert will include a performance by Dr. Deborah Kavasch of Beverly Grigsby’s work for soprano and computer music, Shakti, in celebration of Beverly Grigsby’s 90^th birthday. We invite you to propose a piece and specific performers for this program, within the following parameter. Preference will be given to works related to Beverly Grigsby’s pioneering work in electronic, computer and experimental music.

All composers who have joined or renewed their NACUSA/LA membership for 2017, by the submission deadline, Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 10:00 PM are eligible.

Contemporary Music for Contemporary Issues

NACUSA Los Angeles chapter composers will present a concert of "Contemporary Music for Contemporary Issues" on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM, September 23, 2017 at the Tustin Presbyterian Church in downtown Tustin, California. Admission is free. Parking is available behind the church and on nearby side street. 

Music by Adrienne Albert, Richard Derby, Margaret Meier, Allen Menton, Deon Nielsen Price, David Raiklen, David Saldaña, and Katherine Saxon. Featuring a variety of local musicians and a unique musical virtual reality experience.
