CALL for SCORES!

The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Composers is pleased to invite NACUSA-LA composers to participate in a Gala Recital for 
Piano or Piano+1 on Sunday, January 12th, 2020, at 3 P.M. We are looking forward to returning to Hollywood Piano in Burbank for a third year in a row for another successful concert. 
Works of any style with duration of up to 10 minutes are welcome.

NACUSA-LA concerts are offered FREE of Charge to the Los Angeles Community.

Composers must be members of NACUSA-LA at the time of submission and performance (2020).
Composers are invited to perform their own music or furnish performers. NACUSA-LA will cover the publicity and programs, but COMPOSERS must pay performer fees, if necessary.

All Submissions Must be provided Online and include:
* a PDF file of the score (including year composed and name of Professional affiliation: ASCAP, BMI, et al
* Audio, if available (mp3 ok)
Length of Work - i.e. # of minutes
* Bio of 150 words max
* Program notes of 150 words max
* Names of Performers

The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Composers, U.S.A. invites you to its next concert with the ACE TRIO, Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 3 pm, at California State University Northridge in Cypress Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
Featuring Shannon Cancholaon flute, Ryan Glasson clarinet, and Jason Stollon piano, the ACE TRIOembraces music by contemporary composers, promoting the newest voices of their art.  https://www.acetriomusic.com/
The concert will include: Dogtales by Adrienne Albert; Morning Birdsby Carla Bartlett’ Studies in Change of Momentumand Speed of Soundby Sandra Bostrum; Patterns in the Skyby Matthew Hetz; Triofor Flute, Clarinet and Piano by Deborah Kavasch; Cheshire Street Trioby Jeannie Gayle Pool; Wind Trio No. 1by David Raiklen; Northwest SketchesII by Greg Steinke; and Paris CafĂ©by Michael Glenn Williams.
 

With a unique instrumentation, the trio is devoted to bringing a fresh sound, new perspective and new understanding to the contemporary music world.  Hailed as a “Musical Tour de Force” by the Mountaineer Progress Newspaper, ACE Trio is a Los Angeles based classical modern ensemble rapidly distinguishing itself as one of the newest leading groups of its generation. The Trio is a recent winner of the 2018 Beverly Hills National Audition Chamber Ensemble Competition and will be the Music Teachers’ Association of California Performing Guest Artists for their 2019 spring convention in northern California.
With degrees earned from the Juilliard School, California State University Northridge, Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory, Cal Arts, and University of Redlands, ACE Trio has participated in a multitude of recital series including the Wrightwood Classical Concert Series, Music by the Sea Encinitas, The Interludes in Torrance, the Newport Beach Public Library Sunday Musicales, the Brand Associates Music Series, the St. Matthew’s United Methodist Concert Series, and the Pasadena City College Guest Artist Series.

Score Call for LA Winds finalized!



The Board of the Los Angeles Chapter of NACUSA is proud to announce that we have received funding from the City of Culver City for a July 6 concert of LA Winds, conducted by Steve Piazza. This afternoon concert will take place at the Veterans Auditorium in Culver City and will be free and open to the public. The works selected may also be presented at the LA Winds concert the last week of June, details to be announced. You must be a current member of the NACUSA-LA Chapter to submit works for consideration.  If you are not currently a member, please join by visiting the website at: www.music-usa.org (join the national and chapter simultaneously.).

The deadline for receipt of submissions is Monday, May 6, 2019, 10 pm.
